I'm starting to prefer manual film cameras without a built-in meter. Instead, I put an external meter up on the hot shoe. That way I can more easily meter a scene before raising the camera to my eye. Huh.
Well, my first bulk loading attempt was (barely) successful. First, it helps to read the directions. The Nikon F100 was available, but doesn't allow for leaving the leader out when rewinding, so I had to try the film puller. I must've cut the leader wrong, because the puller just would not grab it. Meant I had to use my usual bottle opener method, but that ruins the cartridge. Oh well, I got some images out of it. #FilmPhotography
@anders@merveilles.town It is! A little overpriced maybe, but seemed like one that even I could figure out :)
Does anyone make camera strap connectors that allow easily swapping straps from camera to camera besides the ones from Peak Design that everyone uses? I don't like those. The giant plastic connectors are always flopping around and their bulk gets in the way. I want something svelte :)
I've been nervous about trying to bulk load film, but I'm finally out of 35mm rolls, so I guess it's time.
@gabz@social.lol A new discovery for me is the Uniball Zento. The stupid influencers have made the fancy one far too expensive, so I use the cheapest ones and still like them. https://www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-ZENTO-Gel-Pens/ct/7819
@Luke@typo.social Nice! I always thought the TL2 looked cool. And yeah, I think I watched that entire polishing video :).
Tootle is "A tiny, text-only, read-only, emoji-free Mastodon client for Emacs." Rougier was just experimenting with vibe-coding (he didn't enjoy it), but I've been using Tootle all day. It's missing images and emoji, but for just reading through everything it's nice and calm. https://github.com/rougier/tootle
So, Trump sent me my $500 marketplace bribe (er..."refund"). I was going to burn it in protest, but instead I'm going to cash it and donate the money to the most progressively-liberal-far-left organization or candidate I can find.
If a permissions dialog popped up on my Mac saying, "Hey I'm gonna delete all your shit and burn down your house!" I'd probably hit "Allow" without even looking. macOS can be tedious.
